How do I request work?

  • Submit a request online at: workrequests.ucsb.edu 
    • Include the building, room, and as much detail as you can.
    • Specifics help us route the work correctly the first time.
    • You can attach a photo, video, or PDF document (up to 4 MB, HEIC files are not accepted).

Urgent maintenance or a safety issue during operational hours: Call (805) 893-8300, then submit a work request online so it's tracked.

Life-threatening emergency: Call 911

Living on Campus?
Residence halls and campus apartments are maintained by Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises, not Facilities Management.

  • Non-urgent Repairs: submit through Housing – Get It Fixed
  • Maintenance Emergencies, M–F 8AM–5PM: contact your residence hall front desk, apartment office, or building staff — or call Residential Operations at (805) 893-3312
  • After Hours and Weekends: call the on-call staff for your community, listed under "After Hours" on the HDAE Important Numbers page
  • Life-threatening Emergency: call 911
