Description

Completed in the Winter of 2025, The Music Unit 1 Seismic Improvements project included seismic strengthening and accessibility and deferred maintenance upgrades to extend the useful life of this core campus building. Seismic strengthening included the addition of concrete shear walls, shotcrete reinforcement of existing structural elements, associated foundation upgrades, and strengthening of miscellaneous structural components including columns and beams.  Accessibility upgrades consisted of Path of Travel improvements including a new access ramp, upgraded restrooms, new door hardware, new signage, and upgraded drinking fountains.  Deferred Maintenance improvements included upgrade of the HVAC and lighting systems, repair and replacement of damaged building elements such as roofing, stairs, railings, as well as removal of hazardous materials throughout the building.
