Campus Custodial Service Impacts AY 2023-24

Although our campus is generally back to pre-COVID operations, we continue to have a large vacancy rate with our custodial team and are unable to complete all the tasks as we did pre-COVID.   From a custodial service level perspective, the Fall 2023 Quarter will look the same as it did this past year.  Facilities Management will continue these service levels due to current staffing limitations:

  • Restrooms, classrooms, kitchens, conference/study rooms, elevators, drinking fountains, entrance doors, and hallways will continue to be cleaned on a daily basis (Monday through Friday).
  • Building stairwells will continue to be checked daily and cleaned on a weekly schedule.
  • Office cleaning services will continue to be one day per month.  Office cleaning consists of emptying refuse and recycle bins as well as servicing the floors or carpeted areas only.
  • Facilities Management asks for your assistance in removing food waste items in private offices or other departmentally dedicated space that may contain food waste.  Please dispose of these items in the nearest restroom or authorized kitchen area.  Please do not place refuse cans outside office doors, as these may become a trip hazard in an emergency.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging recruitment era.
